Who are we?

The Young Artist Music Project (YAMP) was created to be the most comprehensive music training program for children and youth in St. Johns County, Florida. After decades of teaching private piano and violin lessons, founders Michael and Agnes Giuliani envisioned a music school that more fully prepared students for a variety of settings, whether students end up playing casually for enjoyment or tackle a career as a professional. Their goal was to cultivate not only technical proficiency but also a deep understanding and appreciation of music.

At YAMP, students are immersed in a curriculum that encompasses a wide range of musical disciplines. From classical to contemporary, solo performance to ensemble work, the program is designed to develop well-rounded musicians. The Giulianis believe in the importance of versatility and expression, encouraging students to explore different genres and styles, and to engage in creative improvisation.

Moreover, YAMP emphasizes the development of performance skills, providing students with numerous opportunities to showcase their talents in a variety of venues. The Project also includes workshops and masterclasses, giving students valuable insights and inspiration from professionals in the field.

In addition to applied musical training, YAMP supplements training with music theory, history, arranging, and composition, ensuring that students have a comprehensive understanding of the art form. The holistic approach of the Project aims to nurture not only the technical abilities of students but also their intellectual and emotional connection to music.

Michael and Agnes Giuliani's vision for YAMP is to create a nurturing environment where young musicians can thrive, discover their unique voices, and develop the skills necessary to succeed. Through their dedication and expertise, they are shaping the next generation of versatile and expressive artists in St. Johns County.
