Lesson Program Policies
Schedule
The YAMP lesson program calendar contains 46 weekly learning experiences (lessons, recitals, and musicianship classes) throughout the year. Lessons are held weekly, year-round, unless otherwise specified on the studio calendar. While our schedule generally follows the St. Johns County School District, this is not always the case, so please be sure to consult the YAMP calendar for confirmation.
Summers
Lessons and billing continue throughout the Summer with scheduled breaks (see calendar). We are happy to offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your travel plans as your teacher’s schedule allows. In the instance a teacher cannot make the accommodation, and you need to miss a lesson, the missed lessons policy below will apply.
Tuition
Tuition is all-inclusive, covering lessons, materials, studio expenses, and more. To make budgeting easier, we bill a flat monthly rate, regardless of the number of lessons in a month. Scheduled breaks are already factored into your tuition. Students enrolling after the first lesson of the month will be charged a prorated amount based on the number of lessons received and will switch to a flat monthly rate in the following month.
A annual registration fee of $75 per student (capped at $125 per family) is charged on your enrollment anniversary month, or when returning from an extended break in lessons. Tuition does not include optional events such as competitions/RCM exams, teacher attendance at those events, or student instruments.
Payment
For your convenience, tuition is automatically charged to your chosen payment method (credit/debit card or bank account) on the 1st of each month. There's a 3.5% processing fee for card transactions, but no fee for ACH transfers! A late fee of $10 applies to payments received after the 5th of the month if a transaction is declined or no payment method is on file. All payments are non-refundable.
Discontinuing Lessons & Extended Breaks
While monthly tuition is based upon annual enrollment, enrollment in YAMP lesson programs is only a month-to-month commitment. If you need to discontinue lessons or take an extended break (e.g. Summer), simply notify us by email (info@youngartistmusicproject.com) by the 15th of your final month. After that, you will be charged for the following month, regardless of attendance. We do not prorate your final month’s tuition. Upon discontinuing lessons or taking an extended break, your lesson time will be forfeited.
Missed Lessons
Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance. We don't offer traditional make-up lessons in private lesson programs. However, if you need to miss your in-person lesson, you have three options: 1.) If your teacher has availability in their schedule to accommodate a lesson time change, you may be able to take a lesson during that time (this option is not guaranteed, and 24 hours notice is required); 2.) You can choose to take your lesson online (24 hours notice required); 3.) If neither of the first two options is possible, you will receive a missed lesson assignment from your teacher. This ensures that the student can continue making progress for the next scheduled lesson. For group lessons, make-ups aren't guaranteed but can be scheduled for the same week of your cancelled lesson if space allows. No refunds or credit are given for missed lessons.
Communication
In an effort to allow our teachers to focus exclusively on teaching, our office handles all communication outside of lessons. If you have any questions, or need to get a message to your teacher, please email us at info@youngartistmusicproject.com.
Health
Please don’t send your child to a lesson sick. If they’re up to it, schedule an online lesson (private lessons only) or request the teacher send an assignment for them to work on when they’re feeling better. We reserve the right to send them home if they’re sick.
Media Consent
We may use photos/videos of your child for marketing (no names). If you object, please email info@youngartistmusicproject.com
Recording
Video and audio recording may be used for child safety.
Physical Touch
As playing an instrument is a physical activity, there may be times when an instructor touches the students’ person in order to correct technique. Physical contact is never used unnecessarily or inappropriately. If you or your child is uncomfortable with this, please make sure to notify your instructor.
Liability Release
Participants waive all claims against Young Artist Music Project LLC for any injury or loss occurring during YAMP activities.
Policy Acceptance
Enrollment confirms acceptance of these policies.

Tuition is a flat monthly rate based on an annualized fee, covering all learning experiences, materials, and administrative costs, not just the time spent in the lesson. Scheduled breaks are accounted for in this amount.

We do not offer make-ups for our private lesson program. If the student is available, we can do the lesson online (24 hours notice required). Alternatively, a missed lesson assignment will be sent to them so they are still able to benefit from the lesson time. For group lessons, make-ups aren't guaranteed but can be scheduled for the same week of your cancelled lesson if space allows.
