Artist Development
Ages 5+
YAMP's Artist Development program offers students a structured path to mastering the violin. Students explore various genres of music, build a strong foundation in violin technique and music theory, gain valuable performance experience, and learn to play in an ensemble. Lessons are a combination of weekly private lessons and occasional group musicianship classes.

Violin FAQs

No, we can provide a violin for your trial lesson. We'll also measure your child for the correct size violin and point you in the right direction to either rent or purchase an instrument.

Our Artist Development program follows the leveled approach provided by the RCM Certificate Program. This ensures that students are progressing in repertoire, technique, and musicianship simultaneously. Students are not required to take RCM exams, but are welcome to do so!

Musicianship Classes are 60-minute classes held on specific weeks throughout the lesson year in place of the student's weekly private lesson. They are an opportunity for students to build camaraderie with one another, gain performance experience in a casual environment, and learn to play in an ensemble setting.
